That's a very interesting little article. Thanks for the link, I hadn't seen that one yet. And John was elusive with the boys because he knew somewhat about the big bad secret involving Sam and he wanted to keep that info away from them as much as possible as his way of trying to protect them. It's interesting, as you really look our lives, how often we keep things hidden, or secrets and such from family and friends as a way, we think, would protect them or keep them from feeling hurt. John was just doing the same thing.

I'm also a little iffy about Sam's spoilers, but trying to keep an open mind as to how its all going to play out.

And for the one thing the boys will unite on to search for, I posted something the other day about that, and I also stated that I had thought and hope that the one thing they are looking for would involved John AND Mary Winchester. Wouldn't that just be the most awesome thing.

It would be the most AWESOME thing Show has done in a while. I think rescuing their parents' souls from Purgatory (or whereever) would be a great thing to unite the brothers.

Bringing their parents back into the mythology would be a great way to really unite the brothers, and if they are with different modes of thinking in the beginning of S8 like they are saying the brothers will be, something to do with their parents is the only thing I can think of that would completely put them back together and on the same path.

And I love what Carver said about setting up storylines to last several more years. Very excited about that and believing (hoping) our show will go at least through a Season 10.

Awww!! I heard that JDM was there, I so wish he'd been able to crash the panel. :( That would have been so awesome. Like the Ghostfacers crashing it 4 years ago, but 100 times better!

I'm with you on the Sam spoilers, really not that thrilled about them. When Jared explained about them in one of the videos, I thought I could maybe see it making sense, but still it leaves me iffy about the whole thing. I guess we'll have to see how it plays out.

It crossed my mind that they might be looking for the amulet - as a 'power source' or maybe souls from Purgatory including John & Mary or even looking for Bobby's soul or Castiel (I hope not), but I'm hopeful with the 'this time its personal' tagline it will be SOMETHING to do with the Winchesters themselves.

I'm just all --'blech' about the 'love interest' part, if you know what I mean.

Yep, I hear ya. We know that "love interests" never go well on this show -- Jess, Ruby (who wasn't really a "love interest" in the way I see it, but if you're looking at it broadly...), Lisa.... I read/watched another interview with Jared, and the way he was talking it sounded like this love interest thing would be mainly relegated to flashbacks. I know she's supposed to be recurring, so she'd probably show up again at some point down the line, but who knows if Sam will still be really involved with her. The way Jared was talking, it sounded like he might be leaving her when Dean shows up, or something similar to what Dean did as far as Lisa was concerned when he was reunited with Sam in season 6.

One of the interviews Jared said that they're no longer together in 8:01 and the flashbacks are where we see her. Which is more hopeful to me if the whole thing has run its course, but still . . . blech.
