It's finally Sunday, and we don't have to do much today, thank Goodness, because we're all tired. Yesterday, they gave us our grooming stuff, a slicker brush, and a comb. Speed issues - dogs going too quickly or twoo slowly - seem to be one of the most significant and consistent things that we, as guide dog handlers to be, experience in class. Both Sanford and Rhodes frustrated me for a week or more of our class, by either rushing off like a bat out of hell, or crawling along with no harness tension whatsoever, depending on their particular mood, the angle of the sun, and whether or not I happened to hiccup at the wrong time that morning.

It usually does seem to work out, and they do eventually adjust to the pace we want, but I know all too well how nerve-racking that is when you're going through it, and how it often seems like it'll just never really be right.

He sounds like a cute little boy though, so good luck with the rest of training. :) Hopefully you'll be home sooner rather than later, pup in tow...

Hey, hoping for you that things work out. How long are your routes and what type of environment are they in. How does that differ from what the first time students and retrains are doing?

Hi. The first timers and retrains are doing routes of about 3 or four blocks today, which is about a quarter of the route we're doing now.

Hey miss thang. I hope all is going well.
Don't worry girl, it'll all work out for the best. I think everything's gonna be fine. Keep your chin up!
