Today I FINALLY got my raise. Eight percent. Not bad for us. In fact, quite good. There have been several 2 and 3 percent years. Of course, I would expect a decent increase to go with my increased

And yeah...who would clean it. That's what my mom always said when we drove by a big old house and I expressed a wish to live in one like that. But I guess when you live in an old school mansion, you can afford some old school household help.....

While I have never had a huge desire for him to make more than me (okay so I have my own ego crap going on...) I do wish that he would be more aggressive about going after/requesting more, rather than just taking what he gets. Then again, I have always been very aggressive on the salary thing. I don't know why but I got the gene that makes me say, "Well I'm WORTH it, pay me this or I go away"... Guess I needed to get stones about something...
Mmmmm Butter Coma....
PS: Cool about your sister's friend the teacher! Hope they can use the Donors Choose site at his school!!

YES. First, he's worked at the same place for almost THIRTY YEARS. That alone makes it kind of disgusting that I make more, since he has more than twice the experience in pretty much the same field. He's the best at what he does. BUT....no aggression, no chutzpah. He has contacts all over the place now. He has people who I KNOW would give him a job like that. But no. He talks himself out of it before he even thinks about calling.
It's an interesting example of why something I love about him, his gentleness, his total LACK of aggressiveness, his kind heart....also becomes something that makes me insane at times. He's a decent person. If HE were the boss, he would be handsomely rewarding people such as himself. The problem is....he doesn't work for decent people.
Sheesh. This turned into a novel.
