Drinking the kool aid

OK. So I read the Dave Ramsey book.  I listened to his debt CDs, and am now listening to the cash flow CD.  I've kept track of every penny we've spent over the last week.

We spend a lot on food.

Listed some stuff on Ebay.

Getting caught up and am delighted by your determination to reduce your debt. Also by your disgust and confusion with the sports fans. I feel exactly the same way. "We're #1!"??? Who 'we'? 'We' assumes some kind of kinship and connection. The 22 year old millionaire down there on the field doesn't give a rat's butt about you. Duh. ~LA

Hey that's great that you're getting good information from those CD's and even getting something out of the religious parts of it. I am a strong believer in picking and choosing what works for you. Good points, all. I never loan money to friends and family members. I give if I can, but never expect to see it back. Good luck!

I work with someone who has gone to court TWICE with "friends" over loans. Nuh uh. If I give you something, I've given it. Getting repaid would be a nice surprise, but I just make it a rule to not hand out money if I'm not comfortable with saying goodbye to it for good.

And actually, the Bible has some sensible advice when it comes to money!
