Gah. Hate this. But every day is one day closer to spring!

Week one of new crazy pills has been.....OK. I'm more "aware" of being medicated than I was before. But my mood IS better. I'm hoping some side effects will diminish with time. The dry mouth has GOT to go. And I wonder if it's affecting my cognitive skills...I've just felt really....spacey ( Read more... )

Back in the days, when I got a chance to go to Wichita, I would always include a stop to an Aldi (as you know, there was no Aldi in any town between Wichita and Denver). Really helped the budget. Of course, I wouldn't go to Wichita for just, although I dare say I could have broken even between the savings on staple food items and the cost of gasoline+oil+maintenace ( ... )

With some stuff, I'm sure one can make allowances for taste, etc. not big on the idea of generic TP or paper towels. Mayo for me is ALwAYS Hellmans (Best). But canned corn is canned corn, yanno? No reason to pay over a dollar for a can when you can get it for 49 cents...

Agreed on the paper products. Generics tend to be lower in quality.

We actually are trying to find a mayonaise alternative to avoid the very high fat/cholesterol content. Still haven't found anything as good as the real stuff but haven't touched mayo for years. Still, I would bet that if you did a blind test with a generic that has a near-identical nutrition label you wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

And corn...well, I have bought some cans of corn which includes bits of corn husk...and others with really high sodium content. So even amongst cans of corn there is a quality difference imho.

can't say the cotton mouth always goes away. I always have a bottle of water & breath mints around. the ability to focus and get over the plunging depression is preferable. I think it depends if you feel like the benefits are outweighing your personal negatives...

yeah, if cotton mouth is the worst thing, well, ok. It's the increased dingy-ness that concerns me!

I just read about that guy in a novel last night, and thought he was a fictional character - the narrator (a woman) went to his restaurant and raved about his food and how good-looking he was.

Weird.

Interesting to know he's real.
