Been awhile. I know.

Summer's gone. That makes me very sad. This summer has gone by SO FAST.

Anyway. In July we headed out to NY for a family reunion and our wedding convalidation. A few days first in Atlantic City, where I managed to win 600 bucks on the slots....the very day we had a 600 dollar car repair. Overall, we had a fun couple of days.

Congrats on winning $600. Too bad it has to be used for car repairs. Congrats on your convalidation. You look marvelous! I grew up Catholic. hell if I went for confession right now, they would have to order out for pizza

You look great! I was wondering what was going on with you besides the vacation. What is a wedding covalidation and how did that come about?

Well. I was baptized as a Catholic, but never really received any formal instruction. Long about Easter, I started feeling really drawn to attending Mass and exploring more about the church. So now I'm in the process of taking instruction and becoming a full fledged member of the church. Catholics being Catholics, they don't "recognize" marriages that aren't performed in the church...so technically I would be committing a "sin" living with Steve, since were weren't "married". We were married in the Lutheran church, so in order for me to get my Catholic ducks in a row, I needed to have the convalidation.

I think it sounds kind of silly, but their house, their rules, yanno?

No, not silly if it works for you! It would be silly if it was me, but most things are when they concern me.

It really is crazy how fast the time has been flying! I love the pictures you posted. That color looks amazing on you and I love the dress! lmao at the hat. That's too cute. That's great that Steve is going to RCIA with you. As for church policy I've been Catholic my whole life and I have always said that I don't agree with the church on most of their rules. I think there's some of that with most religions though.

Nikki :D

Hi there I saw you from Happy1's friend page. I just wanted to intorduce myself, I'm Karly and I'm going through RCIA starting next week and will become confirmed in the Church this coming Easter as well. I'd be happy to follow along with your journey if you are looking for more LJ friends... I'm looking forward to the classes... I doubt my DH will go with me or convert but, we'll see.

Cheers!
