It was the kids that brought it home. Working hand in hand with the others using every desperate tactic they could think of to keep them alive. Standing to the side as the helicopter landed spitting clouds of dust toward a wound they didn't have a snowball's chance of keeping sterile. Watching the medics with all the frigs and equipment he wasn't allowed to carry to keep his soldiers safe being used on a child that had no business being a casualty of this war and the feeling he shoved down further than the thoughts his mouth spewed surfaced. He was too damned old for this shit.

I took a little liberty and made them both girls because that's what I saw the first time I read the prompt.
Nat's breath caught as she watched the shoot. She was here as the coordinator for the campaign ICE, and the model they picked suited the name to perfection. Bradley was a name that was going to be a household name with in the month and worldwide not long after she was sure. The woman herself was a dream to work with, no complaints and competence in every move. She lay on the surfboard utterly relaxed in a bikini that matched those shockingly direct eyes.
She was smart, savvy and held a hint of humor that said she could break you in half but chose not to. She was Freya come down from Valhalla to grace the mortals with her presence. She was everything her foulmouthed rep Ray had promised, and if she didn't find a way to break the image soon she was going to make Nat's mom hyperventilate when she realized her daughter was dating a supermodel.

The first thing Brad Colbert bought for his former commanding officer was a cock ring. It was purchased exactly one year after he left and was a fairly elaborate affair ensuring complete orgasm denial if so wished. He only believed in buying the best

Brad had months. He had fucking months and he didn't think about it even once. So it figures that he would have an epiphany now, in the middle of the paddle party, with everyone around.
They are sharing their stories about the LT, one by one, from Christeson to Brad and Mike. Brad is listening with one ear, thinking about his story and everything he comes up with are snapshots of a man behind the title, stolen moments of honesty born of exhaustion, silence that doesn't feel like it needs to be broken. It says something about Brad that he thought was long gone, almost like it was never there in the first place.
When it's his turn, he tells the story from Baghdad, the refusal to send the platoon into hostile city at night. Brad doesn't mention the conversation, I trust your judgement, sir, but he sees that Nate remembers
