Most people have the irresistible urge to share information even when they know they shouldn't. I know I do it and it seems like everyone I know does it. Even my life-long friends. Most of the time it's ok that they told. Sometimes it's not. Seems like in your case someone really should have kept their mouth shut. It's a rare find when someone will absolutely not tell another soul what they know.

You are right about rap and pop. Most people don't even realize that to the artists they are just a demographic.

well that is the way most americans are. americans like to talk, and they seem to think they know every thing. like walk up to an average joe on the street and ask him about how a motor for a car works, you might be surprised what their answer is. and now walk up to the same "type" of person, and ask them about poly physics, and laugh when they get that fucked up look, on their face.

americans naturally have the inability to relate, they try rather hard though, so when ever you ask them a question, its like surching for porn with yahoo, you get alot of shit but never what you want.
