So glad you've found such an awesome group of people! It's brilliant to have a gang like that :) This is why I don't understand people who don't bother to go and do stuff, they miss out on that awesome connection.
Damn, I didn't realise this crossposted to LJ. The layout looks better and the pictures actually work on my blog.
I think it's really hard to find that kind of connection with people. I'm 31, and it's taken me this long to find it, and that wasn't for a lack of trying. I was really lucky to find it with this improv community, but I've heard that even the other improv communities in this city aren't as welcoming and connected as we are at Leela.
But see, you FOUND it :D I've just known too many people who complain about not being able to meet new people, but then they don't DO anything, you know? You're living proof that the right group is out there :) You get to do what you love and hang out with awesome people, yay!
I think the city you live in can make a big difference, though. Sometimes you really have to travel in order to find your specific group, you know? I mean, if you're living in the middle of nowhere, it's going to be a lot harder than if you're living in a big, diverse city like the one I'm in now. I certainly wasn't able to find a group like this in Malaysia, no matter how hard I tried. And even though I got close, it took a lot longer to do than it has here. Though I will say it can still be hard to see people outside the improv setting.
