Snow!

Dec 20, 2009 14:53

For those who hadn't noticed: It's snowing outside!!

We were supposed to have a pre-Christmas-dinner tonight with my sister and her boyfriend, but we've cancelled it as nobody wants to travel in this snow unless it's necessary. I was NOT looking forward to the dinner so... thank you, snow.

Also, it appears that Potential Boyfriend R is now ( Read more... )

You've never seen White Christmas???

Go be ashamed of yourself! Or, no, in fact, go watch it! I love Bing, I love Rosie, I love Rosie&Bing together, I love Danny Kaye, and Vera-Ellen is not any particular fave of mine but she dances amazingly well. (Even if her waist is SO tiny it looks like it might snap.)

Rosemary Clooney sings a song called "Love, You Didn't Do Right Be Me" in the film which is fabulous and she wears the most smashing black velvet gown. I wantz.

No, I've never seen it. I'm planning to educate myself and watch all of these old movies, but I haven't got the time... Will watch this one though. Hopefully soon. :D

It's got a plot with holes you can drive a truck through, but if you're willing to overlook that, you get a film with great fun (Danny Kaye), great singing (Rosie&Bing), great songs (leave that to Irving Berlin) and great dancing (mostly Vera-Ellen, a bit of Danny, and Rosie seriously could not dance AT ALL -she said in the commentary that the director had asked for two leading ladies who could sing and dance. He got Vera-Ellen,who couldn't sing, so they dubbed her singing. And he got Rosemary, who couldn't dance. She said "Now if only we could've dubbed my dancing, we would have had a great picture.") Anyway. Boys meet girls, they put on a show, everybody is happy in the end, there's snow for Christmas and they sing. What more could you ask for?

LOL I'm not sure we'll be exchanging gifts - but I hope so :-)

We'll see how it goes. I'm so busy and I've got so used to my single life... but I'm sure he'll fit in here and there (no pun intended... or... actually, hell yes, pun intended!)

LOL, we sealed it all right :-) (Now there wasn't a single bad word in that short sentence but I hope I managed to make it sound suggestive anyway.)

Snow / White Christmas: I know, real snow sucks - Dutch Rail are already covering their ass by announcing on the website that they expect there will be very limited train traffic tomorrow "Please do not travel by rail unless absolutely necessary". Yeah, tell my boss that...

I've got a dirty mind that doesn't need too much suggestion to be stirred in once certain direction! ;)

Lol, the German websites mostly stopped listing any departure times, but I can see that the train on my route that would have left at 6:33 pm is still due to leave which gives me a good idea about the current situation...

Well, the one thing Dutch Rail is good at is keeping the online info up to date. However, each and every update so far has consisted of "No train traffic possible, please keep checking the website as we update regularly." That's... very informative indeed.
I'm curious to see what will happen tomorrow. I've been working on our e-learning website from home today (all I need for that is internet access and thank god THAT is still up and running) but I really want to go into work tomorrow...

Lol, a friend made it for all the fangirls that met up in London 2008, because it just fit with some of the rather suggestive "conversations" we had there! Good times. ;)
