Learning on-line, conferences, etc.

Teaching on-line is infinitely more work than teaching in a classroom. Face to face interaction with students is immediate and, even if it illusory, you feel like you have more control. If students don't respond to email you don't know what is happening. I guess it is similar to students who don't bother to ever come to class ( Read more... )

I do agree with you, online courses are tons more work then in the classroom. This is my very first time taking an online course, and probable won't be my last either. I prefer being in the classroom so I could get all my questions answered, plus it's not crunch time like it is now. For me, if I'm not responding to e-mails right away, it's because I'm at work but I'll respond before the end of the week.
