A little while ago I posted about an advert for Oven Pride which had got under my skin so much that I actually bothered to officially complain about it. I may as well not have bothered - I got the response from the Advertising Standards Authority today. Apparently this didn't break any guidelines. Aren't the ASA the ones responsible for allowing averts for "Unlimited" Internet access on mobile phones, where "unlimited" in fact meant ""?

One of the mobile phone companies -- I think it was Orange -- was blatantly talking shit on this a while back, giving you "unlimited" access of 10MB/mth, but for an extra £20 you could have a higher "unlimited" access of 100MB/mth. But this was all OK because the small print explained that "unlimited" actually meant "unlimited as long as you don't exceed the limits".
