There is a call out for well written top 10 lists on bitmob.com, and I thought it'd be neat to write it on something you don't normally see in video game related anything ( Read more... )

Samus was the first character to come to mind, but...yeah. The new game kind of ruined that. Mary from Tales of Destiny remake? I can't remember if she was ever sexualized.

She's a strong female character for sure, but her character design is well. It shows plenty of skin.

Mostly trying to argue that female characters don't have to be stereotypical eye-candy in design to be awesome.

Is The Boss from Metal Gear Solid series still escaping eyecandy-tude? She's the only other character coming to mind.

A lot of the PW girls could work, I think. Unless Maya and Pearl's channeling Mia counts against them.

Maybe Heather from SH3?

Clearly I don't play enough video games.

I think Heather could work, but I haven't played SH3 and couldn't write about her if my life depended on it.

It's on the list of things to do!

I could probably fake it if I look up things on a wiki though, playing with Heather in CFUD has spoiled me to hell already. *GAMES JOURNALISM*

Let's see... It's hard to think of examples that aren't from games where like, the characters were all stick figures or something.

I don't think the females in the Left 4 Dead series were especially sexualized.

Agrias from FFT?

Oooh, Agrias works! L4D... works but they're not super strong characters in general.

Strong and non-sexualized?

Hm... what about Rosalyn from Okage: Shadow King? They all looked like Nightmare Before Christmas puppets... but I thought she was a good character.

The first one that immediately springs to mind is Dagger from FF9. KICKASS PRINCESS, YEAAAAH.

Maybe Elika from Prince of Persia 2008? Princess Zelda, Midna... I don't know if I play enough video games to do this.

OH WAIT. EMMA AND EMMY HONEYWELL FROM LAST REMNANT. Two super strong fighters who can do magic, but are mostly combat oriented. Also have next to no skin showing.

Elika was very... modern sexy, especially for the setting. I love that game though.

Dagger is good, but I know absolutely nothing about Emma and Emmy, if you wouldn't mind explaining? I have that game on Steam but not yet own a computer which can play it satisfactorily.

Emma and Emmy are two generals of Athlum, the city David is from. They're very high ranking, and David takes their advice seriously. He freely admits that he sees Emma as a bit of a mother figure, even when she's bitching him out on the battlefield. They also have two of the coolest swords in the game.

In one of the scenes where Rush first meets David, he pats David on the shoulder, and Emma immediately just punches him to the ground. It's HILARIOUS. DON'T TOUCH THE MARQUIS, FOOL.

And how could I forget: My favourite female game character OF ALL TIME. (Move over, Princess Zelda, you've got nothing on Narcia. ♥)
