Okay, I am totally not going to finish my thing in time, so I think it's time to admit I'm dropping out. I look forward to everyone else's stories, though!
The 10,000 word draft is mostly to give the artist a month to get their art done. If you think you can get your story done by the end of April, you're welcome to stay in the Big Bang and post your fic with the others, but if you don't have 10,000 words by March 31st, you won't be given an artist. We're really sorry, but we want to make it fair for all the artists involved.
I'm going to have to officially drop out. There's no way I'll be able to finish on time, even though I already have way past the 10000 word minimum. :)
I'm really excited about seeing everyone's stories, though!
Aww! You still have another month to write, even if you aren't finished with your rough draft yet. We just need to know that you've done at least 10,000 words worth of fic.
I know, but I'm really not going to be able to get it done in that amount of time without driving myself completely CRAZY. I've got some things to do next month that are going to cut into my writing time considerably.
I'm still going to finish my story, I've just extended my own deadline to June 1st. :D
Oh hi, on this note, how rough can the drafts be? I'm way past 10k, and I'm confident I'll be able to finish the story by deadline, but right now there are some scenes which are really quite sketchy.
There's no way that I'm going to make it past 10,000 words in the next twenty-four hours since I'm working a double shift at work, so it looks like I'm going to have to drop out. Oh, well. At least I tried. :-(
Question: I'm bound and determined to actually finish the story and have it ready to be posted by the final due date in April. If I make that goal, could I still submit the story with the others? I mean, I realize that it wouldn't have artwork, but I'd love to be able to still have it count as part of the big bang.
yeah, what she said.jazzypomApril 1 2010, 00:00:20 UTC
I'm going to have to drop out as well. I think I can finish the story, but I'm going to have to default on the art, which might be for the best anyway, because there are a few artists to be going on with.
Can I still submit it if I make it by the due date?

I got an extra 2000 words out banged out today and if I get another 2000 tomorrow I'll have about 10, 000 so all will be well.
Sorry for troubling you.
