Aren't most Americans poorly socialized, and don't their responses involve things like television which further limit their socialization? I really don't see how your argument can be limited to tech-nerds.

Another very good example, I was simply pondering feedback loops early in the morning after coming across someones entry, no this is in no way limited to tech nerds (I have many friends who are "tech-nerds" of one fashion or another so I certainly don't intend to single them out).
I really don't see how your argument can be limited to tech-nerds.
It can't. Was just one example. Even the "well socialized" are in no way immune from this phenomenon.

I was using the definition: 3 : "one who receives or is entitled to receive some endowment or quality from a parent or predecessor" because I was pondering feedback loops and thought it was funny.
