I love challenges. I like the fact that there is some kind of focus-a fic about X, a fic with pairing Y, a fic inspired by Z. It's a place to start. In fact, I would say about 95% of my popslash stories were written either for a challenge or for fic_requests-or in response to something written/suggested/argued by other fans. For me, that's the best thing about fandom-it provides an atmosphere which makes writing easy ( ... )

For some reason, I never participated in SeSa, and I've loved Sparkly Dancing Boys (and their fanfiction) since 1999. I've written so much, and never for anyone else in a setting like this. I'm SO excited about it.

I HAVE participated in Lord of the Rings RPS SeSa. Not only did I write my story, but jumped in at the last minute when someone else bailed, and seriously, I think it's some of my best stuff. I write really fast, proofread briefly, and then don't reread again (which some people may freak about), so something on a timer like SeSa is just up my alley.

I mean, even today, I sent my friend Keith this hot pic of JC and Nick Carter, where JC is wearing a GOD AWFUL cross necklace, and he said something about using it to kill all the vampires of the world, and I wrote this brief dialogue between Lance and JC where Lance MAKES JC wear it because Nick has powers of persuasion that are enough to fry mere mortals, and Lance is jealous. :)

I love prompts. :)

I find prompts incredibly useful. They can be a great jumping-off point, especially when you're running low on ideas. :) I suppose some people might find them limiting, but not me! Also, the back-and-forth trading of ideas makes writing seem like much more of a collaborative process, which I like a lot.
I haven't participated in Sesa before but I'm actually thinking of signing up this year. I've had an on-again off-again love of popslash for years now even though I've never written any of my own. (There's so much creativity in this fandom, its intimidating!) In fact, its been absurdly long since I've written anything other than dry, dusty essays and other nonfiction-type gems. I usually do well under pressure, though, so there's that. I'm just worried about ruining some poor person's Christmas with my badly written drivel!
