Title: Sexuality
Author: strychninetwist
Rating: PG
Pairing: Billie/Jason White
Disclaimer: I own nothing but the story

Notes: For bj_unoxx who requested a Billie/Jason fic. I've really enjoyed writing this, so if there are any requests I'm happy to give them a go :)

as for my other stories: Pictures of Billie will be updated soon, as will I'm Not Gay, and there's two more One-Shots almost completed and another story fully planned out. I am constantly working on the next chapters of His Fallen Angel, however I'm most critical of myself on that story and it takes a while for me to write those chapters out. Sorry it's been a long one, and a long wait, to anyone who reads my stuff :)

Jason looked over at his friend, who had his head back and his eyes closed finishing the chilled bottle of whatever he’d taken from Jason’s fridge - with his permission of course. And fuck if he didn’t find that sight at least a little beautiful.
“Everything okay Jase? You’re kinda quiet today.” The bottle came down to hang from hands resting in air, wrists on knees and body leaning forward.
“Yeah. Yeah uh-“ he ran a hand through his hair. “I think so. Can I ask you a personal question?”
“Sure, I guess. What d’you wanna know?” Billie fidgeted in his seat.
“How did you know you’re bisexual?” The sudden nature of the question stunned the other man, but after a few moments of quiet Billie held a warm smile and questioning eyes.
“I guess,” a pause. “Well I don’t know. I thought this boy was cute and it sorta hit me one day that I was, y’know, actually attracted to a guy. Bit of research later, y’know porn and stuff, and I just knew, y’know?” He grabbed his empty bottle, “but it’s different for everyone.” That goddamn ‘y’know’ always got to him, from irritating to amusing to adorable.
“So you had an ‘oh shit’ moment?” Jason tried not to laugh, he really did. Honest.
“Pretty much,” Billie grinned, glad his friend was less tense. He got up to throw out the empty bottle. “So are you coming out or just curious?” And the tense was back again.
“I don’t know Bill, I thought I was straight - I am straight - it’s just that there’s this feeling like, well I don’t know.”
“So you’re basically bi-curious?”
“I think so but I wanna know for sure,” Jason looked at the stain on the arm of the sofa where he’d spilt something and not quite cleaned it up properly.
“You could always try kissing another guy. If you like it congratulations on being gay, if not then you know.” Billie sat down next to Jason.
“I like that idea, but who do I kiss? I don’t wanna kiss some random strangers like you do. No offense.” Memories of his recent jealousy in those situations pulled at Jason’s mind. Not because he wanted Billie, though he was attractive, but because these people were confident in who they were, knew what they wanted.
Placing a hand in Jason’s knee with a laugh, Billie offered, “None taken, but you could always kiss me Jase.”
There was a moment where Jason couldn’t quite breathe. The idea ran around in his mind like a never-stopping train on a looped track. His friend, one of his best friends, was offering himself as an experiment. The idea offended Jason as much as it excited him and he wasn’t sure what to do, be it accept or try and forget his internal conflict. Eventually a small spark of lust made the decision.
“I think that’s a good idea,” a hand rested on Billie’s.

And that’s how Jason found himself lip-locked with Billie Joe Armstrong. When they separated Jason sat back, “Well shit.”
“What?” Billie looked concerned.
“I think I might be gay.” There was a second of silence, like in a movie, before they broke into laughter. Billie recovered first.
“Bisexual or just gay for me?”
Jason looked over his friend. Feminine stature with masculine features. A pretty pout surround by stubble. Nervous hands between trembling thighs. A man he’d been friends with for years, through fame, heartbreak and crisis.
“Can I be both?”

Three months later Jason was looking over at Billie again. This time his head was down and his hands were busy, his whole being focused entirely on the guitar in his hands and the riff that he’d been humming all morning. After the kiss Billie had taken Jason out to bars and gay hang-outs to let him experiment; watched him find himself in a sea of people who had probably faced similar conflicts in their lives. By the end of it all Jason had come out pretty positive that he swung both ways, but also sure that there was only one guy he’d really been interested in all that time.
They were in the studio together waiting on bandmates having worked together on a guitar track. Since Green Day had announced him as an ‘official fourth member’ he’d felt like he should do more for his place in the band, and likewise had been given a lot of creative freedom in the songs. He didn’t really mind the title, he already knew how valued he was to his friends, but he was grateful for what they had done.
Billie stopped and started putting to paper what he’d come up with, “You okay there Jase?”
“Yeah, just thinking about the last few months. You’re still single right?” Jason tried to push Billie’s thoughts in the same direction as his own. He got a nod and small hum from the focused artist. “Well then, can we talk a second?”
Billie put the guitar and notebook to one side, “I thought you figured out your sexuality?”
“I did, this is something else,” he gave Billie a small smile when hands reached out for his own with words of encouragement. “I figured since you’re single, and I’m single, and I think you’re the most attractive guy I’ve kissed in 3 months,” a laugh from one and a smile from the other, “That you might consider going on a date with me tonight?”
“I can’t,” Billie answered immediately, but refused to let go when Jason tried to pull back. “I have the kids this week, Adie’s dropping them off tonight - but I’m free Saturday afternoon if you’re interested.”
“So you want to?” A large smile spread across Jason’s face, as the studio door opened.
“Want to what?” Mike wondered, holding the door for their drummer.
“Talk about movie timing,” Billie let go of Jason’s hands and picked up his guitar, getting ready to present his latest creation in the possibly never-ending catalogue.
“What did we miss? It’s Mike’s fault, he wanted a burrito!” Tré blamed despite having a half-eaten double chocolate muffin in his hand.
“Nothing really, we’re just dating now.”
Don’t misunderstand, Jason loves his friends very much, but they did ask a lot of questions.
