Oh this is great and not too sappy at all. I love the first sentence in it's soft-statedness, and then the gentle beautiful scene between Jim and his mother. Oh, the lovely end sentence wraps it up nicely. &hearts

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it! Like I said, this is my first time writing a comment fic, but your prompt just kind of spoke to me. (And I'm glad you liked the scene with Winona, because I feel like fandom sometimes judges her too harshly.)
