I really, really like this :) I also like that you've left it open as to the fandom. That way it can be whatever the reader wants it to be.

I saw the prompt, and that dialogue just wafted into my brain. I couldn't figure out whose voices they were, so I posted it as is. :D Thanks!

I thought of White Collar right away, possibly while Kate's still alive. Neal's the one saying you only fall in love once. Peter schools him. :)

I do like the chose-your-own-fandom element, however. Dialogue that good shouldn't be restricted to just one!

Did you see the White Collar/Chuck fill someone did for this prompt? It's not what you imagined, but I just thought I'd give you a head's up in case you hadn't seen it.

Like I replied to someone, I saw the prompt, and the dialogue just played in my head. No voices, really (just mine, I guess :P), only the words. So I posted it and let you decide! I like it when people leave fills open to any fandom (use "he/she" instead of names). I can usually fit a variety of situations and characters into that one little thing.

“I don’t understand why you don’t just go back,” Neal complained, pouring himself another glass of wine.

Bryce scoffed. “I can’t just go back,” he retorted. “Even if they hadn’t thought I was dead for the last two years, he just married her. I can be a selfish bastard but I’m not about to step in the middle of that.”

“So get over him!” Neal exclaimed, using the empty bottle to emphasize his words. “I know you had a huge thing for him but come on! He’s not the only cute geek on the planet! And she’s not the only hot spy,” he added. “If she’s the one that’s got you drinking yourself legless.”

“Nah,” Bryce chuckled sadly, lifting his glass and taking a healthy swig. “It was always him.”

“So?” Neal sat back on the couch with his newly refilled glass and nudged Bryce in the side. “Like I said, not the only geek in the sea. Go find someone new.”

Bryce grimaced at him. “It’s not that easy,” he protested feebly.

Neal snorted. “Easier than me having to listen to you whine about it,” he retorted.
