It's like Ryan has stepped back in time, he's sixteen again and the smell of the ocean is overflowing. He's sixteen again and Seth is there with him, for all he knows they could be back at the Crab Shack after some lousy party or having breakfast. But now they're older, more put together-supposedly- and more experienced. They're almost the same. Almost.
Ryan can see the hurt in Seth's eyes, and he's waiting for the subject of Summer and their divorce to come up, but Seth keeps going on a tangent, the pain is hidden. Seth keeps rambling on and Ryan can only focus in the small ways Seth has changed over the years. His fingers itch to pull back a strand of overgrown hair that falls across his face.
He tunes in the conversation smiling as he catches the punchline.
They're almost the same, except he's no longer lost.

He's back home.
