Mother had said this was for the best. They must protect themselves from those who want to harm them. It had been his fault, not Norman's. He was only trying to defend himself. White Pine Bay is asleep and Norman shivers, pulling his sweater closer to his chest. It must be the coldest night of the year, but Mother told him to be here. She had come into to his room and told him to come to the graveyard, there was something they must do.
They gotta stay safe.
He's doing what Mother said, and Mother is always right.
