So my dad is currently in the ICU.  His surgery was scheduled for 4 hours but ended up being 8 hours long.  They removed a piece of his colon, fixed three hernias and removed his appendix.  Because he was under anaesthesia for so long they're keeping him in ICU to be under close watch.  They had him on a ventilator for the first night after surgery

hey, steph.
I've been thinking about you and your dad, as i'm sure we all have been! i just know you've been at the hospital most of the time and i've kinda been relying on your lj for updates, lamely enough. let's face it, it's kind of become the medium for finding out about each others lives until we all have a chance to get together.
but sorry for not calling, i know you must be having a rough time.
I'm just going to go ahead here and speak for everyone, but we do care (a lot) and are really worried!!!
how long is he in the ICU for? we should all hang out tomorrow night. plz call.

Yeah im sorry steph. but just so you know, i know that we have been thinking about him and you because we've talked about it on msn, and were wondering. and it's true i totally did/do rely on the LJ for updates, even though it's totally lame.
