Construction of Starbase 69 was proceeding a little ahead of schedule. The journey from Sha'kwai had been uneventful for Marlena. She disembarked with her few possessions, heading for the turbolift to the arrivals lobby.

She wasn't entirely sure how to address the commodore--Marlena was, of course, a Starfleet officer, but she wasn't an officer of this universe's Starfleet, and Otrona wasn't exactly her superior. So she merely caught the woman's eye and saluted, waiting to be spoken to.

The salute wasn't quite "right," which piqued Tandy's interest. It wasn't unreasonable to suppose that this woman might not be native to their universe, which only made Tandy's obligations as a host more clear, as far as she was concerned.

She stretched her hand out as she approached. "Commodore Tandy Otrona. Welcome to Starbase 69."

"Lieutenant Marlena Moreau," she answered, taking the commodore's hand. "Thank you." She glanced around. "To be honest, I'm not sure if I'm here as a researcher or a subject." The transfer, put through in a hurry, had been less than clear, as was Marlena's actual status in Starfleet. The fact that she'd been continuing her usual duties on the Enterprise had little official bearing.

Martha came off-shift, ran a brush through her hair, and went down to the arrivals lobby. She hoped she didn't look too starstruck at the arrival of the famous Enterprise, but she was hesitant to approach anyone herself.

Perhaps some nice Enterprise crew member or visitor might initiate conversation?
