Christmas in Petra

Dec 25, 2010 21:36

I am writing this from Petra, admittedly while rather tired and ready for bed, all because I would like to be able to put "Wadi Musa, Jordan" in the Location section below. So forgive me my errors, I'll be sure to clean this up later. And make it interesting. And even funny. I swear.

Long rambles about one of the seven wonders of the world plus photos. )

Thank you so much for sharing your tale! Petra has fascinated me since I was a small child. I didn't realize how HUGE it was until much later.

What amazing photos! It's one place that I've always been interested in seeing; hopefully one day I can follow in your footsteps :) Thank you for sharing some of your adventures with us.

*hugs*

That is really cool! Thank you for sharing your pictures and your adventures. Glad you're still alive, hehe. Those pictures when you first enter the canyons with the paths that the water would take are breathtaking. *____*

Really??? Damn! I guess we must have been there in the "off"-season because although the JD was definitely more expensive than the dollar when we were there, there's no way in hell it cost us that much to get in. I suppose the fact that we were the only guests in our hostel should have been an indication. Glad you enjoyed it though! Hope you bought lots of postcards to send. :D

No, it was definitely cheaper when you went. It's just this year they have started jacking up the price. I found on the web that starting this January they have increased it stepwise - up to 33JD until May, 50JD until September, and then to 90JD after that. Hopefully it doesn't go up any more from there! We were able to escape the 90JD price because you get a 40JD discount if you're staying in Wada Musi, as we were. It was certainly not the high season for us, either - I think there were only 5 other people (2 couples and the one crazy lady) in the entire rest of our hostel.

Managed to not get any postcards in Jordon. Damned street urchins go to bed early! I did get tons in Israel, though - but they're getting sent from the US. Oh well!

I love your writing Marie. I really admired and enjoyed your post on Petra!
you so rule, and you have so little time until you graduate.
Keep the posts coming.
