That was a huge pleasure to read. I especially loved the conversation between Ruby and Castiel - hilarious but still fraught with tension. And I love your portrayal of the angels - Alan Rickman as the Metatron? Hell yes.
In my head he was totally Alan Rickman all the way (just because it would be epic that way) but Jack Davenport as the Metatron is quite a nice idea too - a bit too shiny and good looking for my taste though!
Oh my god, Castiel is the best thing ever!!! And yes, you made the Ruby loves Sam thing make sense, and her reason for wanting to turn him, and I love you!! The Metatron was true joy to write, to be honest. Angels in SPN all have such different personalities - and I wanted to write one that had a little more experience with people, and 'knew where it was', so to speak. I couldn't think of a better one than the Voice of God himself.
Oh man, OH MAN. THANK YOU SO MUCH, I mean, you already told me you'd put me in the dedication, but you have no idea how giddy and thrilled I am about it now that I've actually read it. Goddamn, this fic blows my mind. There is so so so much to love here:

This made me shiver because christ, the more dangerous Castiel is, the hotter. I, too, like to think of that fight between them as a fluke. Somehow Castiel spending so much time calmly contemplating his coffee only makes him seem more dangerous, and I love that touch.

You know, the more I watch that scene, the more I think Castiel was seriously just off his game. He saw Anna, got verbally bitchslapped by her, and then Dean is kissing her? I'd be all confused and jealous and not up on my angel-fu either.
It's my personal belief, and maybe it's just the Dean/Castiel fangirl in me, that when it comes to battle that Dean's love and faith will actually make Castiel stronger. But, we shall see!
Johnny, Sam and Dean are going to have laughs, and fun, and maybe a few tears. Because yeah.
