I don't hate the episode. There wasn't really anything to hate, there just wasn't anything to love either.
I was annoyed that we really did just get "more of the same". Hey, let's break Bobby's back (again.) Hey, let's explode Cas into chunks (again.) Hey, let's make Adam into a massively annoying plot device without even attempting to make him a character while we're at it (again.)
Hey, let's have Dean provide the soundtrack in show (again...but admittedly, that was actually cool.)
Hey, let's use women/family as a fake cure-all/bandage that completely ignores (or appears to ignore) that as much as these men want to have "normal" lives, they are far too fucked up to ever accomplish it. (A-fucking-gain.)
If Kripke really was looking for a It's All Been Done before vibe--well, he got it. He managed to completely avoid bringing anything new to this episode

I'm not happy with the end of the show but it's the next day and I'm going to try to focus on the things I did like and not the things I didn't. Sigh.
