I missed them live the only time they played in NZ. I was gutted. Didn't Reed Mullin have to quit because he fucked up his back and couldn't drum anymore?
Shame that, he was one of my favourite drummers for a while.
I'm a huge COC fan. From the early hardcore stuff right through to the metal years.

That's all good. I've got change of season bi-polar shit going on myself. So that makes for about a week's worth of feeling like a lead balloon until I get used to it.
I think Pepper Keenan was a highly worthy addition to COC. I'm a big fan of the whole twin guitar attack and those two work together really well. They're both distinctive and that's the hall mark of a classic gat duo in the tradition of legends like Gorham/Robertson, Smith/Murray, etc...
In fact, I can hear a lot of Thin Lizzy in a track like Clean My Wounds.
I never gave C.O.C a good listen back in the day. And seeing as how disappointing "metal" is these days they sound brilliant in comparison and I'm going to have to give them another chance.
I've found the heavier end of the musical spectrum fairly disappointing for a while. The latest Type O is the newest album I have. Apart from that I spend most of my time listening to old stuff.
Funnily enough my favourite new band is Nouvelle Vague. About as far away from heavy as you can get. I'm just loving acoustic jazz versions of '80s pop hits. Their cover of Come On Eileen is a work of art.
