aren't chicken eggs unfertilized anyways? at least the mass-produced ones you get from a supermarket. which is not to say anything in particular other than those eggs wouldn't be able to become baby chickens.

and my mom growing up had chickens that gave her family eggs and sometimes the egg they ate was fertilized and partly developed so there would be a partway chick in the egg but since they were very poor they ate it anyways. she said it was gross.
