Inactivity Policy
Upon joining sound_rationale, it's under the implicit understanding that you will participate and vote on applications. If you do not vote on an application, you will get a red dot (•) next to your name on the memberlist. But if you go back and vote on the application following it, your dots will be erased entirely.
In essence, you must vote at least once every 10 times if you want to remain a member of this community. Every time you don't vote, you get one dot. Every time you vote, your score will set back to zero.
Applications will be up for at least TWO DAYS to give everyone a fair chance to vote.
If you are regularly voting on every 10th application to stay in the community, you will get a warning and you will be marked as warned. If you get two (2) warnings with respect to voting solely to stay active, then you will be removed and forced to reapply to be back in the community. You will be given a second chance and you have to explain why you had to reapply. This may hurt your chances for a swift return, but you can explain it in your new application.
In the event that you vote and you don't have any dots for inactivity, nothing happens to you.
If you need to be inactive for more than a few days, send an email to the offical sound_rationale email address: sound.rationale@gmail.com. Excused inactivity will be denoted on the memberlist by a blue X (X). When you send your email to notify us of your being absent, be sure to include your livejournal username and when you need to be marked as absent. If you do not send an email and are removed, then you will have to reapply. We are not to be expected to notice your comments in the community, nor are we supposed to be expected to remember what you said in the chatroom.
When you're back from hiatus, please let a moderator know through sound.rationale@gmail.com. Also, if you vote on an application while away, you will be considered as returning from being away. If you comment, you will be removed from inactivity and will be expected to vote. If you still insist on being away, please refrain from voting because it will make it harder on all the mods.
If you plan on leaving the community, either post a comment in sound_rationale or send an email to sound.rationale@gmail.com.
