all girls seem to love pump except my friend and i. whenever i go it's always full of fat birds.
my recommendation for a HARD class is Body Attack. You can start off with Body Combat first (which is easier). I never do RPM/Spin, but it's meant to be good.
Pump is meant to be good for you (toning), but I prefer the cardio burn of Body Attack!!
i loved osaka - i loved it more than kyoto. most people rave about kyoto more. we are going to tokyo tomorrow for about 7 nights and then we will probably spend out last night in osaka.
the osaka hilton was great - everything a hotel should be. the hotel granvia in kyoto was good - flash lobby and solid, but a few points are off that didn't make it a 'hilton-esque' experience.
RPM can be as hard as you want it to be - the trainer will tell you when to put up the resistance on your bike but it is really up to you if you actually do it. even if you push yourself waaaay too hard at the start of the class you can still be a teensy biut naughty and slack off on the resistance for the rest. the 800 calorie thing does sound imposing, but it's only 45 mins so it's not too bad - be warned, your arse will be so sore the next day!
pump is another one that you can make as hard as you want, i'd suggest starting with really low weights. i personally don't do pump, my shoulders get waaay too sore and crampy. plus i don't find it makes me sweaty and would rather do my own weights in the gym.
another massive tick for attack - that is my fave class! but my current gym doesn't have it :(
