OSAKA is next up!~
again its about 25 pictures. sorry ha ha!
i really loved osaka. some people say its the poor man to tokyo. i didnt feel that at all. i felt at real bond with it. i'm from glasgow, a port city too, so i think that helped.
people talk about tokyo fashion is where its at. but i felt osaka girls had it going on.
they were so well put together
and the out their fashion girls had more honesty to them?
i regret not buying clothes in osaka
sometimes namba shopping streets haunt my dreams
i loved it!
our digs were in the umeda area, beside the big main station, so on our first night we went to the umeda sky building to survey the city from above....
osaka sky building, from the bottom, looking up
tom and i up the top. being sweethearts for sweetheart christmas....
down the middle of the building....
this is our hotel. i have no idea why its the only building with no lights on? so environmental!
since its christmas, they had a theme going. sweet heart christmas.... you got to write a wish on a star and put it in box etc. but the had these. tacky. wonderful. amazing. love heart shaped padlocks. they engrave your names the date etc on it. i had to. japan is made for people like me. i love this shit. tom did humour me. bless him
around the bottom of the building they had a german christmas market, it was really cute, we had sausages for dinner and some gingerbread and warm wine. the warm wine was kinda blah. but you got to keep your mug. a cool mug. so all worthwhile!
and while all the fun was happening, poor people still worked away in the building...
we went to namba and dotonburi on the saturday. very cool. i felt un-hip...
alas. my budget did not allow for this kind of shopping
i loved these machines, i found them hard to resist.... mr donut one was quite exciting. mr d became our pal in kyoto. as if offered a cheap breakfast. and donuts. and coffee. we couldnt say say no. all three of us got a stylish phone dangling thing...
we ended up getting dinner at the eating theme park. it was fairly crazy, and good fun.
we went to the cabaret cafe and got bizarre rice & omlette thing which was actually quite tasty. the cafe was really cute, all art deco style lamps and mirrors with velvet curtains and couches. the waitresss was in a french maid style uniform.
alas. i did not eat a real octo ball. but. i did eat one in ice cream form!
this was the ice cream place, it was covered in photos of people who ate the massive sundaes. there was ones for Y9,000!! WOAH!
dotonburi at night
running man!
me and the running man!
we went to the castle which is in a lovely big park.
teenagers hang there on the weekend and bands play. it was a lovely place to spend the day....
cool kids in the park
fairly unimpressed rockstar in the park...
cute dogs in the park
more cute dogs. unlike nadz. i got no lizards....
the castle itself is a lovely building, and you get gorgeous views from the top!
they have flowers on display around the castle in november.... i thought we'd miss it, but just in time~
view from the top....
detail and TIGER
fishy friend up the top.
me doing my stamps. in japanese places like castles and muesums, they have lots of stamps, they are probably more for children but everyone gets in on it. i got 3 good ones here.
next up more osaka and some nara!!
