One day, Van realized that Lukes behaviour had changed drastically over night. The normally outgoing and cheerful boy acted a little reluctant, nearly shy, and he tried to hind behind Guy's back or to avoid any meeting with his teacher at all. He just caught him watching him from a "safe" distance, most of the time with a book in his tiny hands.
He asked the family, he asked the guards. But nobody knew what was going on.
Until he asked Luke himself.
"What is your problem?" he enquired as soon as he caught the boy behind a large porcelain vase, right in front of the Fabre's drawing room. "What have I done to you?"
"Don't kill me!", Luke suddely squeaked, tossing something white and smelly at him. Van looked down.
Garlic?
"I now that you are drinking blood! And that you can fly!", Luke continued yelling. "You are an evil, evil creature, Master!"
"....Just what are you talking a-"
"Everythings in this book!" The redhead pointed at a little, worn quire. It looked as if it was very frequently used.
"See? Your name is even on the title! Means I am completely correct!"
Van grabbed the book and read the title. Then he started to snort with laughter.
"Before you decide to kill me, young lord, start to improve your reading skills. Because the enigma this book is about is called Vampire, not Van-pire!"
