Character name: Albert Wesker
Fandom: Resident Evil
Timeline: After the first confrontation with Chris and Sheva (in Resident Evil 5)
Age: Late forties, but looking pretty good for his age thanks to gene altering viruses!
~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths:
Thanks to the help of a self-administered Experimental Virus™, Wesker has a number of superhuman abilities that separate him from the flock of "normal" human beings. These attributes are listed and expanded upon below:
Strength: One of the most obvious traits that he possesses, Wesker has a ridiculous amount of strength for a human, bordering on superhuman. He's easily tossed aside grown men likely twice his weight with a well-placed punch or jab of the elbow. Tossed aside, as in, usually sending them flying across the room. With the same amount of effort, he can easily punch a hole through the average human's chest, which canon has kindly pointed out to us from time to time. He can also lift and throw heavy objects with ease and accuracy, which makes him all the more formidable if the surroundings give him such an advantage.
Speed: In short distances, Wesker has the ability to move faster than the human eye can register. He'll appear as nothing more than a quick blur and reappear elsewhere nearby; to the naked eye it may seem like he's teleporting, when in truth he's just moving too fast to see. He's also seen canonly dodging bullets in a very Matrix-like style, which suggests that he can also perceive motions and objects moving at a high rate of speed. This isn't a stretch, given the appearance of his eyes, which are far from human-looking. (Another trait granted to him via injected virus.) Overall, his speed and ability to perceive reality at a higher frame rate than the normal human eye give him a strong reaction time; his ability to "read" an opponent is more aptly described as seeing their response in slow-motion. Another trait he posseses, which is more a mixture of speed and agility, is his ability to jump long distances that a normal human shouldn't be able to, much like a cat might jump onto an object three or four times its height.
Regenerative capabilities: The virus also grants Wesker rapid healing capabilities, making him a very difficult person to permanently harm on various occasions. If a bullet were to hit him, he would still bleed and it would definitely still hurt, but it would be quick to heal and prove nothing more than an inconvenience of removing embedded lead later. It's also safe to say that a side-effect of this quick healing has given him remarkable stamina; Wesker's been burned, crushed, impaled, and has literally had missiles blow up in his hands, but at worst this merely stuns/incapacitates him for a temporary amount of time. Given time to heal, he'll show no discernible marks or scars of old and more serious fights. (Not to say that he can't be killed. He can. Someone would just have to do a lot of damage, quite consistently. Tossing him in a volcano is usually a good start.)
Even outside of these virus-induced traits of his, Wesker is proficient in martial arts, and actually prefers hand-to-hand combat over participating in shoot outs. Despite this he's still familiar with the proper usage of firearms, and has a tendency to use his handgun in tandem with his special abilities for devastating results.
How would they use their abilities?:
Wesker isn't shy when it comes to using his abilities to stop those opposing him; in fact, he's anything but subtle about it and actually enjoys using them as a form of intimidation. However, considering he'll be arriving on the Thor with a "blank slate" of criminal history, no canonmates to even know of said history in the first place, and isn't going to immediately share his lack-of-moral opinions concerning the evolution of mankind... he probably won't be using his abilities very often at all. Should he ever need to defend himself from any given situation, he would, probably to a very minimalistic extent. But for the most part he's going to be playing the part of scientist when he first arrives, and that doesn't take much in the way of bullet-dodging or punching-a-hole-in-the-chest type abilities. At least, I'd hope not.
Appearance:

Standing at an impressive 6' 3" and wearing lots and lots of black, Albert Wesker is a slightly imposing figure. His black trench coat adds a bit of flair to his appearance, undoubtedly, but even without it it's obvious that this is less of a scientist's outfit and more of someone perpetually prepared for combat. The coat itself does a good job of hiding a somewhat more muscular form underneath. Other than that, his appearance is relatively straightforward: black boots, black pants, black belt (with convenient holster for his cell phone/PDA), black zip-up combat-esque shirt, black gloves and watch, black gun holsters, and his iconic sunglasses. All this is a stark contrast to his relatively pale complexion and blond, slicked-back hair.
By default, Wesker is almost always seen wearing his dark sunglasses. However, if he were to remove them, they'd reveal his eyes in which his pupils are slitted and his irises are a reddish-orange, almost glowing colour. They're best described as cat-like or hawk-like (and lends to his overall predatory aura he gives off).
Background:
Umbrella Corporation was a pharmaceutical company in the most generalized of senses. It was rather something of a mega-company, whose influence spread across the market of several countries. The more public sides of this company included pharmaceuticals, medical research and hardware; the darker, more secretive side of the company also specialised in genetic engineering and biological weaponry. There was even a smaller branch of the company that operated much like a paramilitary organization.
The founder of Umbrella Corporation, Ozwell E. Spencer, believed that mankind was on the verge of its own destruction, and that it required a new breed of "superior" humans to save it. Using this belief as a foundation for his actions, he collected and raised dozens of children who were born from parents of superior intellect. All of these children were given the surname of Wesker, and had their personalities stripped and brainwashed for the sake of serving Spencer and his ambitions. They were then placed into different areas and given the best education possible, all the while under careful monitoring and observation by Umbrella.
Spencer believed the best process to spurring on human evolution would be through viral injection; fitting enough, considering the type of company he founded. Sooner or later, sometime in their lives, each of the Wesker children would be administered an experimental virus as part of this plan. Over time, the virus ended up killing the most of the children instead of helping them. Only a select few remained, and one of these children was Albert Wesker.
Wesker was easily one of Spencer's favourites, showing a remarkable intelligence and cunning that pleased the man. Ironically, he went to work for the very company that was the reason behind "creation", working as a researcher for Umbrella at the age of seventeen. He was later transferred to the Umbrella Management Training Facility under the watch of Doctor James Marcus. It was there that Wesker met future friend and rival William Birkin, whom he would work with for years to come. When the Training Facility later closed down, both Wesker and Birkin were transferred to Arklay Research Facility, hidden underneath a large imposing mansion called Spencer Estate. They became the head researchers there, working on the continued development of the Tyrant virus (or T-virus), while Marcus worked on his own. The T-virus would be created for the sake of making powerful Bio-Organic Weapons (B.O.W.s) for Umbrella, and the research would last for more than a decade before creating its final result: a Tyrant. A large, humanoid zombie looking creature that was genetically engineered to become a twisted version of a super-soldier, and a weapon. Soon after, Wesker and Birkin would be ordered by Spencer to assassinate their former mentor, Marcus, and steal all of his research on the T-virus. They complied and did just that.
Later, Birkin's research yielded the G-virus, a more advanced strain of virus with highly mutagenic properties. However, it was around this time when Wesker had started questioning Spencer's goals when it came to this extensive research into bio-organic engineering, and he requested a transfer to Umbrella's Intelligence Bureau that same year. In 1996, working as a double agent for Umbrella by supplying them information on police investigations, Wesker joined the Raccoon Police Department as captain of their S.T.A.R.S (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) team. It was two years later when news reports about cannibalistic homicides occurring near the Arklay region (where Spencer Estate was located) started airing, and S.T.A.R.S. was sent to investigate. Wesker, secretly still a part of Umbrella and therefore knowing the whole truth of the matter, went with his team to investigate. In reality, he saw it as a good opportunity to test out the B.O.W.s against trained and armed men and women, pitting his own team against the created monsters in the mansion.
Before this, however, Wesker and Birkin were first ordered by Spencer to reclaim the Umbrella Training Facility, which had been taken over by a revived James Marcus when his T-virus research had spread an infected the area within. Unable to save the facility, they were forced to destroy it instead. Wesker realized that this was going against Marcus' wishes, but once again, the idea of separating himself from Spencer was becoming all the more appealing. He thought it a good opportunity to start breaking free from Umbrella, and finalized the decision by making the call himself (with the help of Birkin of course), and deciding to destroy the facility.
After its destruction, Wesker could begin to focus his attentions on sending his S.T.A.R.S. Alpha team to investigate the series of attacks being reported on the news. Upon their arrival they were attacked by Cerberus dogs (virus infected dogs!), and forced to take refuge in a nearby mansion. This mansion conveniently happened to be Spencer Mansion, which would be the testing ground of Wesker's new little experiment with his team. He ordered everyone to split up and investigate before he disappeared, letting everyone defend for themselves while he observed the results.
While many of the creatures inside the mansion killed of a majority of the team, Wesker couldn't allow anyone drawing the connection between the mansion and Umbrella to survive. He made life difficult for the rest of his surviving team, even murdering one member himself. Two team members, however, managed to uncover the truth about the mansion and the research facility underneath; Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield worked together to not only figure out Wesker's true intentions, but attempted to destroy the facility as well.
Even while Wesker's plans were taking a very unexpected turn, he wasn't without preparation for it. He was in possession of an experimental virus that Birkin had given him earlier before (the same one meant to be administered to all children in the Wesker Project), and had planned on using it as a way of faking his death. Letting loose the Tyrant in the research facility, he allowed the creature to kill him and terrorize the remaining S.T.A.R.S. members still surviving. The virus later reanimated him, though, and granted him all the abilities listed in Abilities section of this application, with the side-effect of him possibly losing his remaining humanity (and sanity) over time. He managed to escape before the facility was destroyed via massive explosion, but not without snagging important research files and fighting off several creatures in the process.
With the information he required, Wesker joined one of Umbrella's rival companies, known only The Organization. Believed to be dead by those who knew him, he flew under the radar, keeping contact with other agents. During this time, his main goal was furthering his resources; this included sending out individuals to get samples of various viruses for him. When there was a massive outbreak of the T-virus in Raccoon City, Wesker sent agent Ada Wong to retrieve for him a sample of the G-virus.
Wesker also sought after a sample of the T-Veronica virus, another strain that allowed the carrier to retain their intellectual capacity. He led an assault team to Rockfort Island to steal the sample from chief Umbrella researcher, Alexia Ashford. In Resident Evil tradition, a strain of T-virus was unleashed in the conflict, contaminating the area. Alexia fled, but Wesker followed her to the Antarctic Research Facility, where he met his old enemy Chris, who had been investigating the area for his own reasons. Wesker left Chris to fight Alexia while he procured a sample of the T-Veronica virus elsewhere, and then confronted the man once again. Chris and Wesker fought, but Chris was no match against Wesker and his improved abilities. Their fight was interrupted by a crumbling building, since a self-destruct sequence had been started prior. (It's also tradition for there to be a massive explosion before the end of every game, apparently.) Wesker managed to escape, not without his fair share of injuries. But these would heal up fairly quickly over time, and it would appear that he and Chris would have to settle their differences later.
Wesker infiltrated yet another Umbrella facility located in Russia, with the intent of stealing more research data from its network. After fighting against the obligatory onslaught of B.O.W.s and the head of the paramilitary subdivision of the company, Wesker found what he was looking for. At this point, Wesker had gathered quite a bit of information over the years. He was also a more corrupt man than when he first joined Umbrella, with goals of his own. These goals included him being the new leader of a new Umbrella... but this first required for him to take the current company down. With his resources, he brought evidence shedding light on Umbrella's crimes to court. With such atrocities brought against them, Umbrella Corporation could no longer viable stand as a company; it was shut-down, its management thrown into huge legal troubles, and Ozwell Spencer became a wanted man in hiding.
Wesker then contacted Tricell, a different pharmaceutical company. With his resources collected from Umbrella, he helped them establish their own clandestine subdivision of bioweapons research, in which they compensated Wesker for greatly. He worked with Tricell in secret, unknowingly to his Organization superiors. Within Tricell, he meet an ambitious and intelligent high-ranking employee Excella Gionne. He took advantage of her unrequited romantic affection for him and with her help, they quickly climbed through the ranks of Tricell.
He once again commissioned Ada Wong to retrieve yet another sample for him to give to Tricell; it wasn't a virus this time, but rather a parasite. Ada didn't return with the sample he specifically asked for, but it was a parasite of the same type, all the same. Tricell once again paid Wesker handsomely for this, and the man soon abandoned the Organization, disappearing once more to further his own agenda.
At this point Wesker had amassed a vast amount of wealth and material resources, but this was not enough for the man. Spencer's original motivations for creating Umbrella B.O.W.s still bothered and eluded him. He became determined to find the man himself and thus the answers to these nagging questions. In 2006, Wesker discovered Spencer hiding in a big dramatic European castle, and travelled there on a stormy night to confront him. He easily dispatched of all of Spencer's bodyguards, but when he met face-to-face with the man, Spencer hardly seemed surprised to see him.He explained to Wesker his true goals surrounding his founding of Umbrella, the hope of forcing human evolution through the use of viruses. Spencer planned on making himself ruler or "God" of this new highly developed human race once he succeeded. He then divulged the secret to Wesker's origin, i.e. the kidnapping and moulding of children into people who would accept and embrace his plan, and even help it come into fruition.
However, if Spencer expected this to convince Wesker to help him, he was sorely mistaken. In his already twisted mind, he saw Spencer as nothing more than an old man and an obstacle. The idea of becoming a God over a reborn human race was an appealing one, but not appropriate for a decaying old body in a wheelchair. Spencer wasn't even "evolved" in the same manner that Wesker was, with a virus running through his veins. Proclaiming that the right to be a God was his, Wesker put his fist through Spencer's chest and killed him. He now had a new, slightly darker goal that would guide his actions to come.
Even as he stood over Spencer's body, Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield entered the room, armed and ready. They had been hunting for the last remaining "members" of Umbrella, those two being Wesker and Spencer. Following the same lead that Wesker had, Chris and Jill thought they were going to face Spencer but found a newly enlightened Wesker instead. They fought, but Wesker easily overcame both of them. He tossed Jill aside and walked over to finish off an injured Chris; but Jill, unwilling to let her friend die, unexpectedly rushed over and tackled Wesker. They both crashed through a nearby window and plummeted into the chasm below. Although their bodies were searched for and never found, Wesker and Jill both survived the fall. Jill was captured by Wesker and put into a cryogenic sleep with the intent of being used as a weapon against Chris later. With that out of the way, he returned to his alliance with Tricell.
With a renewed sense of ambition and determination, Wesker worked with Excella in Tricell, who shared his views of creating a new world. The continued working their way up Tricell's executive ladder, and Excella became CEO of their African Division. They re-opened the old African Umbrella Research Center, which held the source of the original strain of virus that all the other mentioned strains were based on, the Progenitor virus. With all of his collected samples over the years, Wesker was able to create yet another virus: the Uroboros virus.
He intended on infecting the entire world Uroboros, and commissioned a giant Tricell tanker and dock to be built behind the facility, and a stealth bomber below the boat's deck. The stealth bomber's missiles would be infected with the virus, and Wesker planned on spreading it via air and releasing it into the Earth's atmosphere, causing complete global saturation.
The plan was in its final stages when two members of the BSAA (a group protecting the world from bio-terrorism) start interfering. These two members are Sheva Alomar and... Chris Redfield. Wesker had expected Chris and had his own proverbial ace up his sleeve: Jill. Having kept her in a cryogenic sleep and using her for the sake of experiments, Wesker injected a chemical substance called P30 that both enhanced her fighting skills and made her will easily bend to Wesker's commands. When Chris and Sheva confronted Wesker, he brought Jill along to fight alongside him.
But his plan on dispensing Uroboros around the globe was still in action, so he soon left to meet Excella at the docked tanker. Jill was left behind to fight Chris and Sheva, but the two managed to remove the device injecting the substance controlling her and freed her of Wesker's puppeteering. They chased Wesker onboard the ship. Soon after, Wesker betrayed Excella by infecting her with Uroboros, transforming her into a grotesque monstrosity.
Jill later calls Chris and gives him a valuable piece of information concerning the virus infecting Wesker: it required a routine injection of a special serum called PG67A/W to be kept in check. Too much of a dosage, however, would destabilize the virus and act as a poison to his body. With this in mind, they ever-so-conveniently had happened to swipe a vial containing the serum during an earlier confrontation with Excella. With this new information in mind, Chris and Sheva confronted Wesker once more and managed to inject him with an overdose of PG67A/W.
Weakened but still determined, Wesker boarded the jet as it prepared for take-off. Chris and Sheva followed him, and as the bomber began its ascent, they fought on board. Now more evenly matched due to Wesker's weakened state, Chris managed to inject him once more with the serum. During the chaos, the jet's underside hatch opened, causing the aircraft to lose pressure and crash into a nearby volcano(?!).
Miraculously, they all survived the crash, but this only managed to further anger Wesker. He deliberately infected himself with Uroboros by destroying a missile and absorbed the virus into his body willingly. This made him transform into a humanoid creature much more powerful and much deadlier than before. Despite this, Chris and Sheva managed to hold off Wesker until the volcanic ground gave in, plunging him into the lava below. The heroes are rescued via helicopter thanks to Jill, and they put a final end to Albert Wesker by shooting him in the head with dual rocket launchers. This leaves them with an impressive lava-filled explosion as they fly off to safety.
This, of course, ends Wesker's story and his ambitions. However for the sake of this RP, Wesker will be taken directly after he leaves his first confrontation with Chris and Sheva.
Personality:
From the beginning, Wesker's personality has always been cold, analytical, and calculating. He's a very intelligent man, having begun his career as a scientist at the young age of seventeen. But not only is he intelligent, but he's clever and resourceful. He knows how to properly use these resources to achieve his goals, even if said resources include people. He has little or no personal attachments, and tends to view people as nothing more than tools, or a means to an end.
How much of this can be attributed to a side-effect of his self-administered virus is up for debate; it's possible that the virus could possibly make its carrier more callous, losing all sense of remaining humanity. It's also possible that Wesker simply had all of these attributes in his character to start with. Nonetheless, it doesn't change the fact that Wesker has what can only be described as clever, reserved, and strategic at best, while cruel, power-hungry, and downright insane at worst.
He doesn't consider himself truly human any more, and because of this tends to look down upon all "normal" humans and their tendencies towards self-destruction. (Which is ironic, considering the actions he's taken in the past, which have been anything but peaceful.) To say that he has a god complex would not be far off the mark, since near the end of his run in the series, it was the very thought of being God of the New World that drove his every action. If he shows concern for others, it's either a façade or he has an underlying motive. He can act pleasant enough, if he needs to. That doesn't necessarily mean that he enjoys your company.
As mentioned before, Wesker is usually seen as calm, cold, and reserved. However, he has his moments of dark humour and amusement, although it's usually at the expense of others. His usual collected demeanour can also be shattered under the right circumstances, such as when his plans go horribly wrong and someone/something stands in the way of his goals, making them fall apart at the edges. When Wesker's truly angry, his emotions are unchained and his actions reflect it. This is probably when you want to stay as far away from him as possible.
All-in-all, Albert Wesker is a mad scientist with a god complex who enjoys controlling others. Not the most pleasant of individuals, but very good villain material.

1st person sample:
[When the video feed starts, the screen shows a man looking down at his guide. He appears to be adjusting his dark sunglasses while weighing his options concerning what to say. When he speaks, it's in a controlled voice; if he was angry or cautious or confused earlier, there are no traces of it now.]
Is this how all newcomers are greeted in space? With a myriad of paperwork, all expected to be filled out in some semblance of a timely fashion? [He makes a noise that sounds bordering on an amused chuckle.] You'd think I'd be used to it, by now. Even Umbrella had its fair share of pointless bureaucracy and paperwork. But this?
[He holds up a stack of unfilled papers as if to emphasize his point.]
Overkill. I'd like to think that I've outgrown the need for filling these out a long, long time ago. Of course, these aliens don't seem to care too terribly about someone's past history, now do they?
One would think that'd pose some sort of... security threat.
[Well. Food for thought, Thor. With that, he'll be terminating the feed.]
3rd person sample:
Albert Wesker was not pleased by this turn of events.
He had been so close to enacting his plan. Years of research and information gathering, all of it culminating to the point where he would have saved humanity from its own reckless destruction. Uroboros was prepped and all but ready for launch into the Earth's atmosphere. A vital point, the utter final stages of his plan were in motion. And what happened?
The Earth was destroyed. Just like that. And Wesker found himself on board a spaceship with little reason as to why or how.
A waste, all of it, he thought to himself, even as he glanced at the bustling corridors of the Thor. All his work to create a New World had finally come into fruition, and now there was a decided lack of mankind to save in the first place. A flash of anger appeared on his features and he clenched a gloved fist at the very thought.
No. Calm, calm. It was only natural to be frustrated at the rather... unexpected turn of events; if one thought about it, it was safe to assume that almost all of the new "refugees" felt similarly. However, he refused to be lumped in as a regular refugee, someone being herded around in their new situation like a flock of sheep.
All the tension dissolved from Wesker's body as he mulled over this new thought. If it was too late to save humanity, then he would have to turn his focus elsewhere. And it wasn't difficult to do; everywhere he glanced, there was a lifeform unknown to his eyes, passing by. New organisms, new research to acquire, new opportunities. Oh, just think of what could be accomplished.
Yes, he'd have to start from scratch, with zero resources and contacts; but he'd done this once before already.
A second time around? Why, he might even prove to be more efficient.
Questions?:
One, actually! As mentioned in the app, Wesker needs a routine dose of the PG67A/W serum to keep the virus in his body stable. (Exactly how routine is up for debate, as canon never gives us any details on the matter.) Excella usually kept an attaché case of the serum on her person, so would it be okay for this to appear with Wesker once he arrives on the Thor?
I'm asking this only because I'd like for Wesker to have a... relatively smooth start on the Thor, without him having to worry about omg inconveniently destabilizing virus!!!1 right off the bat. The attaché case wouldn't provide an infinite supply, of course; but I plan on having Wesker take up various science and research jobs on the ship, so that with time he'll be able to gather up the resources to create his own serum (or at least suitable substitute) after awhile.
tl;dr
Did you put your characters name and fandom in the subject: Yes and yes.
