From my experience, Earth isn't notable enough in galactic affairs to make those kind of enemies.

[However...]

Although the snake people... now that was a grudge.

Where I'm from the people from Old Earth are plenty spread out off and involved. [This is said neutrally. Most people are from times or places where they aren't, it's getting hard to blame people for that]

Still, a grudge before they even got involved?

[The future, then. Well, not hard to swallow.]

They were a competing species that fought early humans for dominance. Eventually humanity wiped out their race. The last of them used some kind of magic to ensure their revenge. They nearly managed to wipe out the solar system doing it.

I'm sure they didn't feel anything, seeing as how they're dead.

Their consciousness was kept alive in a crystal of their own making. Using it, they could control whoever held it.

[That sounds. Familiar. She uses focuses on hocus-pocus things like this very little but it's clear her attention shifted here - she was more distant from the topic before, and now she's focused]

Did you encounter that crystal?

Unfortunately, yes.

Must've had some 'fun' with that one. Not everyday you run into relics of extinct sentients.

Wouldn't exactly call it fun. It turned the League against one another.

But you survived. [Or you'd be using a different tone]

It's what we've all trained to do.

Training doesn't always work out in the face of the unexpected.

True enough, but it's not the worst situation we've encountered.
