I'm still alive. The procedure went well, I think. The reality is we won't really know how much it helped for a while. It takes time to heal, then time to see if there's a difference. It seems that Foresters Hall has been sold. So, Carla is looking for a new fabulous location for Swing Central. If the new owners choose to keep the location as a ballroom, she's also requested that it could continue to be used for the dances. You know a wedding is good when you're surprised that it's already over and you don't want it to end. Many of my weddings this year have actually been like that. The next Stanford Waltz Weekend is happening in two weeks, November 14-16 (Friday evening through Sunday afternoon), with Richard Powers and Angela Amarillas teaching. Danse Libre is the vintage dance troupe of which I'm a member. We recreate lively social dances from the 1840s to the 1930s in full costume. Come dance with us!

Medical TV shows try to get it right, sometimes. But, they also often miss. One little detail in a recent episode of House: a mention of methotrexate, obtaining it from Canada, and being too expensive. I went out swing dancing on Friday night to a venue with a live band. There was a haphazard minimal lesson beforehand. Since there was a follow without a partner, I offered to help.
