Aww, I've actually grown to like the songs from that episode, particularly Forget You. I can't say the same about the episode itself, though. Are you not a Gwyneth fan?
Boardwalk Empire has become my new found obsession. And omg the finale is brilliant! I won't spoil it for you, but every minute is fantastic. You have to watch it the next opportunity you get.
Nothing against Gwyneth, I neither like nor dislike her. I didn't care one bit that she was guest staring. I really dug Holly Holiday, I thought she was great and was really excited for the substitute teacher storyline in general. Buuuuuuut, with the exception of the gleeks dancing in Forget You and Matthew/Harry dancing in Make Em' Laugh the episode was just plain awful. The lack of love/respect is all on that mash-up, I have a disdain for that, that knows no bounds.
The finale? Yes. It was brilliant. This show is brilliant, the dialogue, the sets, the costumes, the pacing, the interweaving of s/ls, the acting. Michael Shannon is killing it. I kind of expected a "big bang," like the episode before last (that baptismal scene omg!). But, lots of "calm before the storms," set-ups. Loved it.
