Everyone talks about the plans (or lack thereof) for their New Year's Eve, but there was an incident tonight which almost made our plans (and many others) moot

Well - the authorities got things taken care of in a hurry, and the guy had the presence of mind to shut off his car. Otherwise things would have been much different.

The guy shut off his car and I think that cut off whatever heat source there might have been. The pipes were pinned up against the building by his bumper. It could have been much worse.
