Glad you, your family and everyone else in the building are ok. I know what it's like to start new year on a note like that.. glad it ended happily. Happy new year! :)

Well - the authorities got things taken care of in a hurry, and the guy had the presence of mind to shut off his car. Otherwise things would have been much different.

The guy shut off his car and I think that cut off whatever heat source there might have been. The pipes were pinned up against the building by his bumper. It could have been much worse.
