Hi, saw this first on TV Tropes. You make good points, but are you sure about that quote? Elsewhere it's claimed that the line is "You have courage because you are courageous." (Exact words or not, that's the gist anyway.)I rather doubt it, no writer is that stupid or willfully dense. But that probable misquote has spread across the internet, thanks to Twitter, etc.

The quote isn't exact--I was paraphrasing. No idea about what's been said elsewhere. :-)

I am struck by the fact that your description of what Jordan does at the crucial moment -- confessing to trusted friends his fear and inadequacy -- opened the door to courage and a whole-hearted life. I'm reading an amazing book right now (see the subject line of this post) which takes that whole idea and unpacks it... it is truly an amazing book, and I am learning so much, both about why some things I naturally do are healthy for me, and why I need to grow in other areas.
