Putin makes me wonder if I'll be having to fight Ruskies up in the Yukon during my lifetime.

I can't offer any critique as most of my knowledge of Russian society comes from Dostoevsky so that's far too antiquated.

hmm somewhat out of date . As to russia picking a fight with anyone biger then georgia, i would rather doubt they havve alot of domestic problems, like a shrinking population, if current rates hold up they will be down to 70-80 million by 2050

I suppose what I should fear then would be the Chinese crushing Russia to take their resources then fighting hordes of Chinese that invade the Yukon.

What if Putin asked the population to have more kids on the grounds that it would make Russia stronger?

I think the first situation (china jaking russia's far east) is more likely. Putin might do that, but such schemes usualy arent that sucessfull, also it isint only they arent having enough kids, they are dying at very high rates. drunk driving,disease due to lack of healthcare ect ect
