Ack! So sorry to hear that the position at the Old Globe fell through. That seems like it would be an exceptional place to work... especially if they were cool with the gender situation.
I just saw Dr. Smith for the first time, and I'm definitely switching to him from my former endo. I felt a lot more comfortable discussing things with Dr. Smith, and even though he made some of the same assertions my endo did that I thought were off, he was waaaaaaay more constructive and supportive about it all. He was also quite encouraging about my prospects for development, and while I have trouble sharing his degree of optimism, it was a refreshing change from the "you probably won't develop much, so as long as your T is low the dosages are fine" perspective my endo had.
Plus... and I say this as somebody who really is overwhelmingly attracted to females rather than males... he's kinda cute. ;-)
That's the place, yes. I'm not sure that's the best number to call for the Tuesday Night Clinic, but if you ask for that specifically they can probably connect you. Conveniently, there's a LabCorp office right upstairs that does their lab work, so it really is pretty much one-stop shopping. I'm not clear on whether the lab is open during the TNC hours, though, as I had to head out right after my doc appt. to buy some birthday gifts for my former step-daughter.
Oh, and while I haven't legally changed my name yet, I put the new one in parentheses on the first form they had me fill out and everybody referred to me that way without exception. Not surprising, considering the work they do, but it was very comforting. :-)
