After 91 weeks....

I'm back!

I have missed you all terribly. Escape is almost dead and Facebook is pretty superficial.....

All is well. Gabe just returned from a semester in Spain, Student Abroad Program, Ari is skipping college (!) and working for a landscaper and Nadia is at school, 11th grade.   We both work for Starbucks! I, full time, naturally. Ron lost his job ( Read more... )

Nice to see a post from you, Connie.

Sorry to hear that Ron lost his job, but it sounds as if you like yours very much. And condolences on the death of your Mum, too. *hugs*

Some YouTube clips featuring Alan in Sweeney Todd, if you don't mind being spoiled. :-)

Singing Pretty Women with Johnny Depp (I haven't seen the movie, but this stops short before anything gory happens).

All the best for 2008 to you and the family.

Sorry you've had a rough year. We all seem to take one step forward and two back. John has changed jobs twice this year. But at least it sounds like you are enjoying your life.

Sorry to hear about your mum. Hard in that, she is your mum and you only have one mum. A relief maybe and you can now remember her as she was before she deteriorated, and remember her as she was when you were growing up.

Having family around at Christmas is what its all about, isn't it? Not so much what the presents are, but the hugs and the laughs.

Take care, and perhaps I will post on my journal too, after a long absense.

"after 91 weeks." LOL! Glad you told me you were back on here. I didn't have you on my friends' list.

I had no idea so much has happened in your life. That's why places like this are great. Especially since Escape took a digger.

Hi, Connie!

It's so good to see you again! I check in with your art website every now and again to see what new, beautiful stuff you've done, but I have to admit that I'm a complete dunce at Facebook and only manage to flail hopelessly whenever I'm there.

I'm sorry to hear about Ron's job but it's great that you like your job at Starbucks. Great hours, and I'll bet the people are fun, too. My condolences on the passing of your mom. I totally understand what you mean about it being a relief; when they're so sick and in pain towards the end, it really isn't crass to be glad that they're not suffering anymore, and that you're not having to endure the anguish of watching them be in pain.

What part of Spain was Gabe in? Sounds like a wonderful adventure for him.

I hope you'll be posting more often, but even if you don't, it was nice seeing you pop in here! Hugs to you, and happy New Year! Plus, don't you have a birthday coming up soon? Aren't we both January or did I get you mixed up with someone else?

P.S. I find myself very ambivalent about seeing Sweeney Todd. On one hand, I am fond of Johnny and Alan, but not of musicals or blood. I'm thinking maybe I'll wait till the DVD comes out and I can skip over whatever songs sound not-so-great, and can better shield my eyes against the buckets o' gore. :D
