At the end of the year, we have to play in front a panel of faculty. We have a technical jury which involves Majors, Natural Minors, Melodic Minors, Major Thirds and Melodic Minor Third scales. They basically pick random scales. For example, "play d flat major and it's relative melodic minor." We also have a solo jury. We play a solo piece, and a contrasting etude. The solo must be accompanied, so I had to hire an accompanist. And that is what juries mean....
