American corporate farmers are getting millions in subsidies to artificially support their production, devastating farmers in poor countries who can't compete with U.S. subsidized exports when prices drop. This arrangement isn't fair to farmers in developing countries who'd like to stop receiving aid and develop stable economies, but it's doubly unfair to American consumers who must pay twice: they face higher prices for agricultural goods and must see their taxes wasted on inefficient corporate farms instead of worthy social support programs like food stamps or children's school lunch programs.
