i was stumbling around the internet today and discovered a BBC summary of Amnesty International's annual human right's report. i noticed right away, that that the summary only discussed human rights records in africa. then i noticed that the language used to decribe the abuses was the(
same across countries. )

I don't know much about politics in general, but it's been pretty amusing listening to conservatives I know talk about Abu Ghraib. Yes, it sucks when we strip Muslims, electrocute them, and beat them with sticks, but sometimes you just have to do it in order to get information to prevent more atrocities. You have to soften them up if you want them to talk. It happens everywhere; get used to it. Thanks for the pep talk. I like how when we do it it's solely for the purpose of extracting information, while when the darkies do it it's because they're cruel, godless savages. Remember Nick Berg!

while i'm not surprised that US officials are denying human rights abuses, or shamelessly attempting to downplay the recent surge of revelations about abu ghraib, at least there is a watchful eye...
heh, however, i do love the reference to OTHER countries at the end of the article...way to divert the focus...
enjoy nairobi, love.
