Oh, this is wonderful, I really like where this is going and am intrigued as to how they're going to resolve these two versions of their reality. It's a bit like trying to work out which of their canon versions of their shared history is the 'real' one.

This really made me laugh: 'Howard would never understand why Vince put so much faith in the little stoner. The man put the shame in shaman. In a crew that included Tony Harrison, Naboo was a bit of a weirdo. An impressive feat, to say the least.'

And I love the idea that the discontinuity in Howard's memories is all Naboo's fault.

Naboo's degree of culpability has changed in my brain over the year I've been thinking of this story, but it was always down to Naboo somehow!

"I'm sorry, Howard," Vince whispered as he stroked Howard's hair, "Let's not talk about it. Tell me about your new screenplay. The one about the genius and the monkey."

This made me tear up a little bit. Poor Vince! He's trying so hard to be strong and caring and he just loves Howard so much and I think I've had too much emotion tonight to be coherent.

"Howard's head was swirling with angry and hateful thoughts, words that didn't belong in his head and certainly should never be directed at Vince."
--SPOILER ALERT--
I know further on, is said in the story that Vince molded Howard to his plaseru, that's a reason to be angry at him, right. But this one sentence, made me think...maybe Vince boycotted Howards and Gideons relationship on purpose. We know Howard couldn't take his hands of off Vince (who can blame him) and iin part that's not Vince's fault. He was just 100% for Howard as far as we know...
But we never really know how Gideon got her hands on that picture of Vince and Howard.Maybe she caught them on the act, that's a posibility, but to take a picture jmmmm

JMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Vincey, Vincey...

I will always, always, always consider this THE most genius of explanations for all the continuity gaps and contradictions in Howard's memories. How could this not be my new head canon? It makes so much sense! Even the Goth Girl interlude from Nanageddon is explained--though it seems a bit sadder now, for knowing that it was another case of Vince trying to recreate their past experiences and bring Howard's memories back ( ... )
