This is wonderful - you had me cackling like a loon by the time I'd got to the third line and Howard's joke about the mindless animals, and it just kept on getting better and better! 'Chit chat with a nit wit' is such a perfectly Howardy Booshy phrase... and you worked in the tube mouse from the crimp... and Howard tries so hard to be all manly with his bitter black tea... all the while not realising that the battle he will have to fight is not to keep Vince under control but to resist that smouldering, molten sexual tension that is already being generated between them just with a look. Fabulously done. Howard is so very good at denial, maintaining that Vince's personal life is none of Howard's business all the while those naughty images of Vince being a top or a bottom are burning themselves into Howard's brain...

Genius.

[One very small Britpick though: Howard would put cream in his coffee but milk in his tea.]

My dad but evaporated milk in his coffee, but we called it "creamer" and that started my lifelong habit of thinking milk and cream should be interchangeable when they clearly are not! I finally fixed it, thank you!

I really like chit chat with a nit wit and it made me happy you pointed it out. I thought it scanned in a nicely jazzy way...

This was so unbearably cute. Howard is a daft, stubborn bear, but at least we know he'll get his act together in the end :D.

My boyfriend has a horrible cold at the moment so this bit:

had me absolutely cackling!

I thought of you because I know how you love the comfort 'porn'! Howard is definitely not going to let this upstart infringe on his personal space or turn them in to friends and they DEFINITELY will not be kissing. Howard Moon is not so easily persuaded...

I know I told you before that I've adopted this as part of my head canon, but it bears repeating. This is SO good, so perfectly THEM, that I am convinced it happened. It just explains so much! It works perfectly as the reason for that first "don't touch me," and explains just as well why it's clearly a game to Vince, seeing what he can get away with before Howard will skitter away ( ... )
