Ahhhhh, I love this! How do you always manage to do this with RPF? I forget it's fiction when you write it; they seem so utterly themselves and true to their dynamic that a part of my mind just accepts that you clearly have some kind of magical pipeline into the goings-on of their lives and hearts and minds ( ... )

I felt very sad reading the prompt and the story was very sad in my head... but then it wasn't. It's pretty normal to not be able to spend someone's birthday with them. I've made birthday plans for weeks after my birthday because that's the day that works for everyone between jobs and kids and when people get paid, etc. Not that I was actually thinking any of this as I wrote it.

So, thank you!

You are most welcomed! I used to think it was cheating when people wrote, "What Bluey said" because I am always greedy for feedback but then I tried to comment on a story after reading a Bluey review and I couldn't think of anything she hadn't already said, and said better than I ever could!

I graciously accept your compliment. (Imagine I am bowing. And for some reason I'm wearing a cape so it looks really classy.)

I really wanted to write something more but Bluey just said it all. I will try though…
I really like your cape. It's very classy. And your stories always make me happy and I loved the way you can write Noel and Julian in such a believable way. And the way you can make me smile at my computer.
I shall now hide my face behind my own cape (which is far less classy than yours) and slink away.

“The boys will make you a rainbow celery loaf for your birthday.”

OH GOD!

There's a reason your Noelian is the only Noelian I read and it's fifty percent because yours never makes me feel uncomfortable and voyeuristic and fifty percent because of lines like that.
