38 - Unwinding (action for Eagle/voice for everyone else - forward-dated to afternoon-ish?)

[ The forest is quiet today, except for the standard animal noises -- at least until a chord is struck on what sounds like a small stringed instrument. A scale is picked out tentatively -- upwards, downwards, and then arpeggioed -- before another chord plays, this time stronger, as though the player is sure of himself.

Then a third one, quieter. Volume control, we has it. It becomes a song, a soft and careful one, but definitely a cohesive melody as humming joins the tune and is harmonized by the strings-- Well, until, of course, the player's finger misses and hits a wrong note. Then it becomes a fast, loud, manic version of what sounds a lot like Greensleeves. This is the musical equivalent of frustrated flailing, apparently.

Then he sighs and puts the instrument down and-- ]

.... [ A resigned smile and tone ] There is neither silence nor solitude in the City, it seems.

When one requires both, what is one to do then?
