[ He would be the kind of person who was exactly on time. Eriol was unsurprised, and in fact had considered opening the door before Clef could knock, but that was Clow's parlor trick, and so Eriol let it go. ]

[ He answered the door, dry and as well-put-together as ever, showing no sign of his concern and frustration. Instead, a smile. ]

Please, come in.

Thank you.

[ He bowed slightly and entered, unbuttoning his raincoat. ]

So, based on what you said, I do not think that yesterday will be an isolated incident.

[ Yep, we're right down to business! ]

I thought diplomats were fond of pleasantries.

[ He takes Clef's coat and does not immediately respond to Clef's words, hanging the coat up and gesturing that Clef should make himself comfortable on the couch. After that he goes into the kitchen and returns with freshly-made tea.

Because, well, maybe not opening doors ahead of time. But it is important to know when to make the tea.

[ He gives Clef his cup and settles down comfortably in Clow's old chair. Then, only then, does he reply. ]

What ever is, in this City? [ Taking a sip of his tea, he continues. ] Please, tell me all that you know.

[ Winced a little in embarrassment when Eriol said that. ]

Sorry.

[ He could very easily have said something about the weather or inquired on how Eriol was doing. It just goes to show you that, though he is good at pleasantries, he isn't really fond of them. ]

It still bears elaboration.

Strength has many different forms. To me it is having the will to do what has to be done, even if no one else understands why.

Is it also the wisdom to decide what it is that must be done?

Yes and no. Sometimes there's wisdom involved and other times it's taking a risk on what you feel is right in your heart.
