Anyone ever make pumpkin pie from scratch(making the pumpkin puree yourself)? I'm thinking about it, but it seems like a huge damn effort unless it is ridiculously more delicious by comparison.

Yep I don't post for weeks except for ask a recipe question. My life is not exciting.

I haven't. I've had scratch pumpkin pies and I've had canned stuff. There was only 1 time I was able to tell a noticeable difference, and it was a texture difference more than a flavor one. I probably don't have the most discriminating palate, though. =)

yeah, I've seen a lot of recipes say to bake the pumpkin, then you can just scrap and mash it easily. But it's still a considerable more effort than a can...
